News from TTT collaboration with EAA Sustainable Design Lab students

October 24, 2016

One of the students involved had the idea to upcycle leftover laboratory glassware that otherwise would be destroyed and used as filling. Laboratory glassware refers to a variety of equipment, traditionally made of glass, used for scientific experiments and other work in science, especially in chemistry and biology laboratories.

Laboratory glassware looks attractive, but the shape and construction makes it difficult to upcycle, so we have the challenge to figure out how to design it into a new product. We’ll start the process by collecting and mapping the products to work with, finding inspiration and getting to know everything about laboratory glassware.

Presentation of laboratory glassware to our supervisor Reet Aus.

This week we will have a meeting with an expert who will help us figure out everything we need to know to start with the process of upcycling laboratory glass. We’ll tell you how the meeting goes in our next post!
